Rust-Oleum Finish For Hardware
Rust-Oleum Finish For HardwareAre you looking for a quick-and-easy way to personalize your gourmet kitchen space by infusing some subtle stylish pop?
MainVue designers are obsessing over an inexpensive do-it-yourself-accent trend: introducing black or brass accents to existing and still-loved hardware - including cabinet knobs, drawer pulls and overhead lighting. Why it's popular: new hardware can be pricey and difficult to find - especially since you're likely trying to tap into pre-measured/already-drilled holes or mounting brackets.
This oil-based, paint-and-primer-in-one product by Rust-Oleum can transform the look of nearly any MainVue space within a day or two. Try black for added contrast - or spritz on some brass for a little shine and glamour.
Experiment with these simple steps to achieve the new kitchen hardware finish you're craving:
- Remove existing hardware. Screw points are located inside the cabinet door or drawer and usually require a Phillips-head screwdriver.
- Clean the hardware. Use a simple soft cloth or steel wool, depending on how grimy your existing hardware is. Allow enough time to dry.
- Secure a large piece of cardboard. Poke small holes through the cardboard using a drill bit, skewer or something similar. Attach the hardware through the cardboard via the holes, using the same mounting screws you just removed.
- Move your cardboard, with mounted hardware, outdoors for quick and easy spraying.
- Follow instructions on Rust-Oleum's can for application and dry times. MainVue tip for success: apply a few light sprays in between dry times.
- After your hardware is painted and dry, attach it back to your cabinets and drawers using the same mounting screw.
- Voila! Enjoy a new, personalized look to your chic MainVue soft-close, European-style kitchen cabinets, drawers and cupboards.
